I was the production designer for Sugar Brown, a TV pilot, university project. The show follows the dopey son (Sugar Brown) of a London gangster who has recently been murdered by a rival gang. Sugar now finds himself head of the family and a little out of his depth.

 

This was my first opportunity as a production designer to design and build a set from scratch. I was able to do this twice in this production. One is a church confessional and the other a Chinatown alleyway.

Seeing a something transform from research images, to a concept and finally the built set is an incredible feeling, you such a huge sense of achievement.
